What is the Green Deal Scheme ?

The Green Deal Scheme seems to be the latest buzzword in the energy sector. But the question is what  is the green deal scheme ? The green deal scheme is an initiative  by the public sector , that is driven by the Energy Bill that is set to come in operation in early 2012. The Green Deal Scheme basically is a public private sector partnership that  allows private companies to provide financing for private home owners and medium scale business owners to improve their efficiency in energy consumption at no up front cost- the scheme may be looked upon as a subsidy of some sort in that the persons who benefit – households and medium scale businesses essentially pay for a pittance to obtain this service9 its important to note that not all homes will benefit from the above arrangement because they may fall afoul to certain metrics) .

The businesses reap from this venture by being  compensated by the state in monetary terms that are commuted in a variety of ways whilst the home/ business owner basically benefits form the above initiative by reducing their carbon foot print and in by so doing they get to contribute to the conservation of their environment. This in a nutshell is what the Green Deal Scheme is about.
